Disability Support
CATCHUP
CATCHUP provides an information & advice centre specialising in Welfare Benefits Advice, based at Coleshill Terrace, Llanelli.
Our staff are able to deal with enquiries on a range of issues involving people with disabilities and their carers. Most of our work involves advising disabled and elderly people on their welfare benefit entitlements. Assistance can be given with form filling, reviews and appeals for most claimable benefits.
Staff are also able to provide information on disabled holidays, aids & equipment, available grants for adaptations in the home, access and mobility problems, wheelchairs and much more.
The Information & Advice Centre is open from Monday to Thursday, 9:30am - 3:30pm, and Friday 9:30am - 3:00pm.
Llanelli Disabled Access Group
Llanelli DAG is a local group covering the Llanelli District and surrounding areas; we are people with disabilities, carers, and all who have a vested interest in improving access.
We work with disabled people, businesses, architects and designers, the public sector and the voluntary and community sector in the Llanelli district and elsewhere. We promote best practice in accessible and inclusive design and access standards.
If you are unable to obtain access to a building or service, then we may be able to assist you in liasing with the appropriate authorities to resolve the issue.
If you have an interest in public access issues as they affect the lifestyles and choices of people with disabilities, you are welcome to join us at our meetings. We actively encourage interested members of the community to join the Group to develop an effective force to promote access and equality throughout the Llanelli area.
Our monthly meetings are held at the Coleshill Social Centre Llanelli on the second Wednesday of every month at 6:30pm.
If you wish to get involved or attend one or more of our meetings please do not hesitate to contact us.
