Felinfoel Senior Citizens Group - 3rd Birthday Celebrations!!

On 26th March 2008, Felinfoel Senior Citizen’s Group played host at Tir Ynys Complex to the local community who joined in to celebrate their 3rd year as a well established community group.

Felinfoel residents, Councillor Hugh Richards, The Town Mayor, Felinfoel Communities First, The Gateway Garden Trust and the Housing Department also came on the day and got involved.

Phil Watts, Coordinator of Felinfoel Communities First presented members with their First Aid certificates, which was funded by the Organisation at the members’ requests.

Pat Evans and Kai Rogers from the Housing Department donated a truly delicious birthday cake to the group, which everyone had a piece of during the celebration.
The buffet was catered from the NHS trust, who provide the meals for Thursdays Luncheon Club.

The group raised £100 with a raffle and an auction of a bottle of Port.
A big ‘Thank you’ went out to the group for all their hard work in generating people’s interest in activities they support within the village.

A very tiring day for the group members but a good time was had by all – especially when there’s a bottle of bubbly to help you out with!

Pat Evans, Tenant Participation officer from housing services is delighted to work in partnership with this group and it is very encouraging how the group have developed and achieved so much in just 3 years.
